Highlands Senior Care is a 10 bed inpatient unit that focuses on the needs of our aging population. We provide specialized treatment to seniors that are experiencing a variety of mental health related issues. The focus of our aging years should be on preserving dignity and enhancing quality of life that is why the staff at Highlands Senior Care provides a multidisciplinary approach to care. Your care team will include (but are not limited to): a psychiatrist, a medical physician, nurses, social workers, recreational therapist, and other consults as needed. We provide education and guidance to both our patients and their loved ones.
If you or a loved one is experiencing signs/symptoms of:
- Depression: crying, change in appetite and/or sleep patterns, thoughts of dying.
- Alzheimer’s/Dementia: agitation/combativeness, sundowning, wandering, pacing, anxiety, hallucinations, delusions, and/or paranoia.
- An acute onset of inability to care for self and/or non-compliance with medications.
- Need for inpatient medication adjustment.
- Acute anxiety that interferes with your activities of daily living.
- Evidence of symptoms and/or behaviors that reflect significant risk to self and/or others.
